The Use of Aura-Soma Aura-Soma brings the light and colors to the body through the combination of herbal extracts, organic oils and crystal/mineral energies in approximately 100 bottles of beautiful liquid color combinations. At the beginning of an Aura-Soma color consultation the client makes a selection of four bottles. These bottles become the basis from where to start the interpretation. Throughout the session a 'therapeutic bottle' crystallizes. This bottle is what the Aura-Soma colorist recommends to the client to purchase and use. Depending on the colors within this bottle, it needs to be applied to specific areas of the body. This is always done in a band all around the body. Experience has shown that people drawn to this system typically are at a crossroad, face a time of change or are searching for new ways of expression. By opening up to the ancient wisdom of colors, they discover new avenues to explore and to meet their individual challenges. How Aura-Soma Works Just as the rain or a prism bends the light into manifested colors, the body is surrounded by light and colors of the aura or electromagnetic field. Color is energy visible to the human eye. The colors of the energy field are of a different frequency and not normally visible. Wherever energy is blocked there is a need for release, adjustment or balance. Aura-Soma postulates that even without physically seeing the colors of his/her aura, a person intuitively knows which colors to balance. The colors a person chooses indicate a need for balance in the energy frequency of those colors. Color is the language through which nature speaks. The seeds of understanding this language are within each of us. They help to guide the soul on its journey of evolution. By choosing and applying the bottles with color combinations a person is intuitively drawn to, he/she is building his/her vibrational body towards wholeness. Aura-Soma, The Color Therapy for Your Soul The holistic color system called Aura-Soma combines the ancient traditions of color healing with herbal extracts, essential oils, gem and crystal energies. It is a soul therapy using light and color in working with the body and the human energy field. Vicky Wall, an English apothecary and practicing therapist for forty years was the founder of Aura-Soma. In her book 'The Miracle Of Color Healing' she describes how this unique system came into existence during the 1980's. Since then it has become very popular in many countries in Europe such as England, Germany and Switzerland. While the Color Academy in Tetford, England remains Aura-Soma's headquarters, courses are being taught worldwide. Imagine a three dimensional network of colors in rows and rows of color bottles. Two colors always make up each complete color bottle. You see almost a hundred bottles with a multitude of brilliant color combinations. The top fractions contain oil, the bottom water. The bottles may remind you of wave bottles you may have seen in a toy store for grown ups. When you shake those bottles, waves form, and it is fun to watch and play. But you may not to touch these color bottles. Looking at the bottles you are definitely attracted to some of them, while others seem quite murky or you never liked orange anyway. The Aura-Soma colorist asks you to point out the bottles you like best, four all together. This will probably take you a while. So far it was fun in a non-committed way, but choosing sounds so final. You try to bargain with no success. OK, red was always your favorite color. Yet you just can't seem to take your eyes off a bottle with a turquoise and a magenta colored fraction. You're encouraged to 'let your intuition guide you.' After an agonizing back and forth you will probably end up with the same bottles you had originally chosen. That was before you knew your intuition was supposed to guide you. Could it possibly be as effortless as you first experienced it? The Aura-Soma practitioner asks you to sit down next to her in front of your color choices. "We are the colors we choose. Of course you intuitively knew that," she says as she picks up one of your bottles with her left hand holding it only on the plastic top. "This is the way to keep the bottles clear. Once you touch the glass your energy will enter the bottle and influence the crystal, gem and plant energies contained within. This is exactly what we want, but only after the therapeutic bottle has been determined. Next you hold the bottle and vigorously shake it to make a temporary emulsion out of its contents. Oil and water are otherwise immiscible. The only thing left to do is to apply it to your body in the places indicated by the colors." Now comes the actual consultation. The bottle to the left is your soul bottle. It shows your true soul color. The color in the top fraction indicates the circumstances within which you chose to incarnate to learn and transform toward your purpose in life. Not a small thing. The second bottle is the challenge. It suggests what you need to work through in order to gain balance and harmony within. The third bottle is about the present. It points out where you are on the quest to self realization of your innermost potential. It also displays beneficial energies in working toward that goal. The bottle to your right then symbolizes what comes to you from the future. It gives you a hint of what's next. Your Aura-Soma colorist mostly talks about colors, their symbolism and how this relates to human experience. She touches on different levels - emotional, mental, physical, spiritual - and mentions the past, present and future. Without knowing you at all she is revealing your story in color. Hearing it with such depth of insight you are able to see the light. You are learning that the electromagnetic frequencies of different colors have different qualities. Choosing the colors you're intuitively drawn to is the key to balancing your electromagnetic field (aura) in the areas you need it most. It is the first step to self awareness on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. With the help of the practitioner you have discovered a new way of looking at old problems that you can begin to call 'challenges' instead. Through meeting and mastering your challenges you are then in the position to offer the seed of transformation to others. Seeing this in the light of Aura-Soma has brought you an understanding that every challenge really is a blessing in disguise. Your Aura-Soma practitioner picks up one of many colored bottles. This is a different bottle from the ones you chose. While your chosen bottles are made of glass and have no label, this one is plastic, much smaller, and has a label. It spells 'Quintessence of the Master'. She opens it and holds it under your nose. The fragrance is strong, rich and reminds you of something you can't quite put your finger on. Maybe your favorite grandmother's linen closet from thirty years ago? The color of this Quintessence is the same as your soul color in the first bottle you have chosen. The practitioner explains: "This Quintessence represents a spirit being or Ascended Master resonating with your core energy. In the plastic bottle is a blend of forty-nine herbs preserved in Ethanol. Like precious old wine these substances have aged for several years. All Quintessences contain the same forty-nine herbs, but in different proportions. This is what creates the various colors and fragrances. Each color is associated with a Master. Acting as a spirit guide this master will facilitate your awakening into clear consciousness of being. This has the potential to align your soul with its true purpose." You decide that this is good enough, and want to know what to do with it. The colorist instructs you: "Put three drops on your left wrist and rub them together. Stretch your arms up to contact the energy of the Master. Visualize the fragrance with the energy coming out of your left wrist, circling the planet, and catch it with your right wrist. It doesn't take much time. Now close the circle by applying it to your own energy field. Do this with a movement as if you had angel's wings. then take three deep breaths from your wrists. This is your 'hotline to Heaven'. Apply it only once a day, preferably at bedtime. When you're asleep the Master can work with your Higher Self without interference from your ego." There is one question burning in your mind. When under stress you tend to forget all this which now seems so clear. How can you remember? The colorist seems to have the answer. She picks up another small plastic bottle. The label on this one spells 'Pomander'. Just like with the Quintessence there are fourteen of them in different colors, hues and shades of the rainbow. With the Pomander, 'The fragrance of color', you support your selected color choice. It helps to protect and strengthen your aura and to filter negative energy so you can remain centered in all circumstances. On your way out you will probably find yourself accompanied by the 'therapeutic bottle' of your choice, and possibly a Quintessence and a Pomander. With the rainbow in your pocket, the world will never quite look the same anymore. ____________________ Katharina Wehrli has been involved in the Healing Arts and Holistic Health since 1977, Katharina is a Registered Polarity Therapist with the American Polarity Therapy Association.
